Pilates Training
Pilates at Heart and Soul Rehabilitation is 1:1 training which maintains the foundations of traditional Pilates as taught by Joseph H. Pilates and at the same time incorporates the clinical expertise as a licensed physical therapist into the training program.
Pilates Principles
- Concentration: be present in the mind or in other words be concentrating on what you are doing.
- Control: "Body Contrology" - What good is doing something if you do not have control of it?
- Center: "Powerhouse" - the strengthening of abdomen, lower back, hips, and buttocks or the "girdle of strength. The center seres a critically important function in our bodies - that ofm spinal stabilization.
- Fluidity: in fluid movements, muscles never switch off since one muscle needs to stay "turned on" until the next muscle has taken over and then flows to the next.
- Precision: attention to detail - focus and centering.
- Breath: oxygenates the body - enough said.
